Background
From May 2025, Accelerated Breeding team presents a set of endorsed "must-have achievements" - known as the Accelerated Breeding Goals - developed through: Deep-dive discussions with CGIAR breeding teams (late 2024), The Crop Lead Meeting in Dubai (October 2024), and Analysis of progress and alignment with donor expectations (e.g., Gates Foundation)
These goals represent essential capabilities and outcomes that every CGIAR crop breeding team must achieve to be sufficiently effective. Each one is critical for delivering improved varieties faster, more efficiently, and with greater impact.
